so…this link is not about this band’s music. no, they’re not half bad, but i mostly was just blown away by the totally interactive online version of their CD’s booklet. go there and flip a few pages and you’ll see what i’m saying.
cracked.com is like if trey parker and matt stone wrote web articles instead of south park. this article especially is both hilarious and intelligent, but that’s pretty much the standard for these guys.
I’m bad at making mistakes though I still make a lot of mistakes. But I internalize the problem five times over Until I can’t seem to speak. No goodbyes, I’ll flee the scene Start my perfect life as an imperfect loner.
I’ve been planning my death ‘cause I wanna have a really good death. I want heroism, mystery and courage. Does anybody think about these things? Every time I lay down recently I’ve been overcome by nightmares filled with stabbings, guns and flames.
I’m disappearing, no one’s saving me. I’m running to the undertow ‘cause it’s inviting. Not responding. I’m in hiding, fighting off myself.
So “Kill Me Sarah,” I get stressed out too. I’m teeming with the regrets of constantly clinging to the lonely, depressing.
I’m rebuilding myself. Oh, I gotta have a way better self. I’m starting by having conversations sober. But even with the things I try to change, the only thing I want will stay the same That someone will miss me when my life is over.
i’m working on a design the other day and my friend Cam shows me a poem he wrote. so this gets my mental gears turning and i’m thinking to myself “what makes a poem? is it just the fact that someone writes it with the intention of it being a poem, or are there rules? THEN i remember haikus, which have very strict rules and you can tell one from a mile away, so THAT got me thinking…why don’t we have more of those? i mean i’m sure there are several hundred styles of poems i don’t know about, but you know what, why the hell can’t i just make up my own style of poem?
well to answer that question, i decided to do just that. introducing…QUOEMS. how does one write one? simple. a quoem is a poem containing only four words (quad+poem=quoem) any other rules? yeah, why the hell not. when you write or type a quoem, you must put a forward slash OR a line break between each word. one example would be the title to this post. another way of writing it would be…
see? slash, or go to the next line. pretty simple. i suppose if you’re horribly opposed to forward slashes, you can use some other punctuation. either way, i encourage you to write your own quoem, or hell, go make up a new style, because who likes doing things the old way right?
I’ll be honest, I hardly pay much attention to what record label a band is on these days, but one label i’m a HUGE fan of is QU. Just about every band on this page is worth listening to, and it’s all free!!
